About this board

Deck Boat Owners Forum started in September 2025 because the general boating sites had gotten too big to be useful. ask a deck boat question there and you get six answers from bass boat guys and one from a wake boat guy and nothing from anybody who has walked a bow with a cooler in each hand. this board is deck boats only. Hurricane, Bayliner, Tahoe, Starcraft, Chaparral, Sea Ray, the older Four Winns, whatever you have, as long as it has a flat bow you can stand on.

the lakes are central and south Texas because that is where the members are: Canyon Lake, Lake Travis, Lake Georgetown, Choke Canyon, Lake Corpus Christi, and Medina when it has water in it. nobody will mind if you are on Lake Conroe or Sam Rayburn, we just do not know your ramps.

it is run by Janet K., who posts as mod_janet_k and lives in New Braunfels. she spent nineteen years as the office manager at a marine dealership on the San Antonio side of Canyon Lake and has read more boat titles and lien releases than anyone should. she answers the contact address herself and she is slow in july.

How it is paid for

out of pocket. hosting for a site this size is less than a tank of gas for the boat. there are no ads, no affiliate links and nobody pays to be here. if that changes it will say so on this page first.

House rules

• be decent. people asking beginner questions are why the board exists.
• post the details. year, model, motor, hours, the lake, the price. vague questions get vague answers.
• if you write up a purchase, say what you paid. a buying post without a number gets a mod note.
• no selling in threads. there is no classifieds board on purpose. you can link a public listing if it helps a discussion.
• no dealer, broker or auction staff posting as customers. if you work for one, say so.
• mods can move, merge or lock threads and will say why in the thread.
• accounts are by request while we keep the bots out. ask through the contact page.

What this is not

not a dealer, not a broker, not a parts store and not a service manual. when somebody here tells you a prop pitch or a torque number, check it against the book for your motor before you spend money or drop something in the lake.
